Two Blessed Oscar Romero House graduates, Zola Makanda and Patrick Mujambere, recount their childhoods in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and their road to successful lives in the United States.
Blessed Oscar Romero House located in Bensalem is a 12 bed transitional living home for unaccompanied refugees between the ages of 13-18. Dedicated staff provide youths with case management and English tutoring, identification assistance, driver’s licenses and green cards (refugee minors may apply after a year), medical and dental appointments, employment advice, and counseling, if needed. The goal is for them to live independently by age 21.
