The requirements to become a foster parent include:

Must have a safe, stable residence with appropriate furnishings.
Must be healthy enough to provide care for children.
Must be able to pass criminal, child abuse and FBI background checks.
Must be able to complete the home study process.
Must be able to provide support to children and their families.

The Bishops’ Dinner fosters a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere for all, featuring sit-down-style meals, musical entertainment, and calls for prayer intentions. The bimonthly initiative provides Archbishop Pérez, the auxiliary bishops, the Catholic Social Services team, and volunteers with an opportunity to serve and share a meal and fellowship with those who are hungry, experiencing homelessness, and transitioning from homelessness to independent living in Philadelphia. Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish in North Wales sponsored the September 19 event.
To learn more about the ministry or to sponsor a dinner please contact Amy Stoner, Director of CSS’ Community Based and Housing and Homeless Services Division, at astoner@chs-adphila.org.
