Senior Citizen Programs Through Catholic Social Services
Catholic Housing and Community Services (CHCS) and Catholic Social Services provides programs and support for seniors. Through our network of independent living communities, our in-home care programs and neighborhood senior centers, we aim to support our senior citizens with dignity and respect.
Catholic Housing and Community Services, a division of Catholic Social Services, addresses the social, emotional, and spiritual needs of seniors to foster independence and health so they can continue to live in their own communities with a dignified quality of life.
Catholic Housing and Community Services is committed to providing the best quality support for seniors and we are committed to helping loved ones find the right resources for their aging family members.

Catholic Housing and Community Services supports older adults in parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Through a team of Care Managers, we assist individuals and families by providing valuable resources, acting as advocates and liaisons, and coordinating needed services. The core of our parish eldercare program is an in-home assessment and care plan that is tailored to each individual’s unique needs.
The four Senior Community Centers located throughout Philadelphia, in partnership with the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, offer opportunities for socialization, recreation, physical exercise, education, and nutritional support with a focus on overall health, wellness, and independence for our elder generations in need. These social services also provide access to nutritious meals, supplemental food resources, and direct assistance in applying for benefits.
CHCS provides a robust senior housing program that enables seniors who are 62 and older to remain active in their communities while enjoying affordable, comfortable, stylish apartment living. With six buildings throughout Philadelphia, CHCS has created independent senior communities that enable older adults to age in their homes with features specific to their needs such as roll-in showers, emergency pull chords, handrails, and access to an on-site social worker.
Catholic Housing and Community Services provides a Senior Services Helpline that provides access to information about senior services and connection to a care manager for resources that include skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, continuous life care communities, in-home support, senior housing, senior centers, and senior clubs in the Philadelphia area.
