Mary’s Cupboard, an emergency food assistance site located at the Bucks County Family Service Center in Levittown, is seeking donations of backpacks to benefit local veterans and individuals experiencing homelessness. The center is a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS).

Mercy Hospice, a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS), which offers stability and hope to women in recovery from substance abuse— in particular mothers with young children—will once again observe National Recovery Month by participating in this year’s virtual Pro-Act Recovery Walks sponsored by The Council of Southeast Pennsylvania. Pro-Act is encouraging supporters to walk with a few others on Saturday, September 12th or any Wednesday throughout the month. The Bucks County Family Service Center will serve as a “Stuff the Bus” collection site. This year, the initiative aims to assist local families with children in need as well as those impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

  Families with infants and children living in Northeast Philadelphia are receiving ongoing assistance in the face of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic thanks to an initiative newly launched at the Northeast Family Service Center (NEFSC), a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS). This program, affectionately called “Clothing Cuties,” aims to assist families experiencing financial hardship as a result of the pandemic by providing essential infant and children’s clothing. This relief effort is especially critical during these challenging times. Parents and guardians impacted by the virus recently voiced concerns to NEFSC staff that their children were growing out of their clothes and that they were unable to purchase new ones as a result of financial hardship and the ongoing closure of retail stores. Catholic Social Services’ Family Service Centers and Out-of-School Time Programs across the region are continuing to keep clients and children virtually engaged, connected, and supported amid the public health crisis facing our nation.

The funds will enable DPV to purchase art supplies, physical fitness items, and sensory materials which will benefit residents participating in its Alternative Day Program located on campus.

The awarded funds will benefit three vital service areas operated by CSS critically impacted by the virus.
