Martha’s Choice Marketplace, a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, is the largest and most visited food pantry in Montgomery County.
Martha’s Choice Marketplace, a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS), will serve as a pick-up site and distribute free healthy meals to children and families facing food-insecurity as part of former First Lady Michelle Obama’s campaign, “Pass the Love w/ Waffles + Mochi.”
The campaign, a collaboration between former First Lady Michelle Obama and the Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA), aims to provide relief to families struggling with food insecurity throughout the month of August.
In our region, Philabundance will be distributing the meal kits to 26 partner sites around the region, including Martha’s Choice Marketplace.
Each meal kit will include one shelf stable box of high quality nonperishable ingredients, one bag of produce, and recipes for three distinct meals inspired by the new culinary television series for children, “Waffles + Mochi.” Recipes will be provided in English, Spanish, and Arabic.
Martha’s Choice Marketplace is also partnering with ACLAMO, the primary assistance agency for the Latino and Hispanic community of Norristown (Montgomery County), to provide up to 150 meal kits to both Martha’s Choice Marketplace clients and families that access services via ACLAMO.
Families interested in participating in the initiative are encouraged to register with CSS prior to the scheduled distribution day by calling Martha’s Choice Marketplace at 610-279-7372 to ensure proper amount of kits are available.
Meal kits can be picked up on Thursday’s throughout August on the following dates and times.
